How to fix cracked screen on laptop

If you work on your laptop all the time, then you must have a personal connection with your laptop, which rounds up as your office. It is therefore natural that you cringe at the thought of having a cracked screen. However, this happens many times and having a cracked screen on a laptop is not exactly breaking news (no pun). While some people will discard their laptop over a cracked screen and buy a new laptop all together, this is not always such a great idea because, there is such a thing as fixing a cracked laptop screen.
In fact, if professionally done, replacing a cracked screen is cheaper than replacing the laptop. Replacing a cracked screen can transform your screen from drab to appealing. However, if you still have a strong need to discard your laptop over a cracked screen among many other reasons, remember to salvage the functional and valuable parts such as the RAM and hard drive. Be global conscious and recycle the remaining parts.

Factors to consider when replacing a cracked screen
·         Note down the model and the make of your laptop
·         The panel size of your laptop’s LCD in terms of resolution (pixels of the screen) and the inches of the LCD
·         Note down the backlight of the LCD panel. This can either be CCFL and LED.
·         Note other hardware aspects such as the cable connections, placement connector and the count of the pins connected to the data cable of the screen.
·         Look at the back part of the LCD panel in order to determine the size of the replacement panel.
In a nutshell, a broken laptop screen is not really that serious. Well, not as serious as a broken hard drive. Since a laptop is such a defined unit, a cracked screen might make you dismiss the entire laptop. The good news is that, many of these parts can be permanently fixed and a broken screen is not an exception. So do not really think about discarding or selling off your laptop at the first sight of a cracked screen.
Instead, purchase a new screen from an authorized dealer either online or locally and fix it. Some dealers will offer you a toolkit as an after sale service and this is ideal because it allows you to fix your cracked screen with the right tools. Since some laptops have a glued screen tightly into the housing, it would be wise to replace the entire housing that holds the screen.
